Ventus Energy Group’s mission is to develop renewable energy projects in the Baltic States. By doing so, we aim to promote sustainable energy development and increase the use of green and renewable energy in everyday life.
As part of arranging project finance, we attract Senior and Mezzanine debt for carefully selected projects without intermediaries and unlock the potential of long-term returns. All presented projects are developed and managed by the Ventus Energy Group.

Henrijs Jansons
CEO / Finance and Strategy.
Henrijs brings over a decade of experience in managing roles within the Finance and Technology sectors. His career includes contributions to some of the industry's leading companies, where he witnessed and influenced their growth and development firsthand. With more than 10 years of experience, Henrijs has a proven track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams to success. He has completed an Executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, equipping him with up-to-date industry knowledge and strategic insight.
Gvido Bajārs
CLO / Legal and Regulatory Affairs.
Gvido has more than 15 years of legal experience in banking and finance law, as well as in advising corporate and private clients. His industry knowledge covers credit institutions, fintech, capital markets and investment services. Demonstrated skills include business development, business strategy and financial product development. Gvido has a proven track record in compliance, including obtaining licences for financial institutions. He is also proficient in the preparation of bond and IPO prospectuses on the First North Nasdaq Riga market and in the development of internal control systems for financial institutions.
Arvis Zelčs
COO / Product development, daily operations, and client support.
Customer-oriented services manager with demonstrated experience in managing new product development and customer service, including a 5-year history of working in the fintech industry. He has managed the development of new investor product projects and the improvement of the existing products. Arvis excels in overseeing daily operations, ensuring seamless client support, and delivering strategic initiatives that align with the company’s vision for growth and innovation. His practical experience is enriched with theoretical knowledge - an MBA from the BA School of Business and Finance.
Toms Ābele
CMO / Communication with all company stakeholders.
With over 20 years of experience in product development, marketing, and exceptional customer service, Toms has led business and marketing units in Latvia's leading companies, including the national telecommunications and railway companies. Additionally, he has held significant roles in fintech and investment firms. Transparent and open interaction with all stakeholders, along with a strong reputation, have been the cornerstones of his performance across all industries.
Jānis Timma
CDO / Energy sector project development.
Jānis has over 12 years of expertise in the energy and fintech fields, providing a solid foundation for identifying energy sector development and investment opportunities. He is the founder and owner of a fully operational 15 MW biomass plant and 4 biomass plants (total capacity of 125 MW) in the development phase. Jānis has consulted on a variety of energy sector projects, leading them from early-stage development to operational success and profitability. As part of ongoing project development, he has been managing the negotiation process for engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, supervising power purchase agreements, end-customer contracts, and product placement in the heat and electricity markets. Jānis is the Chairman of the Board of the Combined Heat and Power Plant Association of Latvia.
Kārlis Lejnieks
CPO / Partnerships with high net individuals and landowners.
Kārlis has over a decade of experience in managing roles within the Sports Management and Consultancy sectors. He has proven partnership experience with demonstrated success in fundraising and networking, building fruitful relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry leaders. He is adept at delivering tailored products and services that exceed partner expectations and drive mutual growth. Kārlis holds an Executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, providing him with up-to-date industry knowledge and strategic insight.

15 MW BIOMASS PLANT
Project Status: Operational
A biomass boiler house with a capacity of 15 MW was commissioned and put in operations in 26th April, 2018. Technology includes:

  • a flue gas condenser which increases energy output in a range of 14 MW and 15 MW, depending on humidity of wood chips and daytime temperature and
  • a water heating boiler with nominal output 12MW.


The object is located in Riga, Ganibu dambis 40B.

52 MW BIOMASS PLANT
Project status: under development
Biomass boiler house with a capacity of 52 MW in the development phase. It is the largest privately held heat production plant in Riga and one of the largest privately held heat production plants in Baltics.

24 MW natural gas CHP Plant
Project Status: Operational
This is a power plant which has been commissioned in year 2013, it is connected to district heating system owned by Daugavpils municipality and connected to electricity grid.

It is one of the largest energy production facilities in the region. Total energy output is 24 MWh which consists of 12 MWh electrical out-put and 12 MWh thermal power out-put.

22 MW BIOMASS CHP Energia Verde
Project Status: Operational
This is a biomass chp plant which has been commissioned in year 2017, it is connected to district heating system operated by Rigas Siltums and connected to electricity grid. It is one of the largest energy production facilities in the region. Total energy output is 22 MWh which consists of 4 MWh electrical out-put and 18 MWh thermal power out-put.
